BRITISH TRADITONAL FOOD
British have one of the most delicious and traditional food around the World, and they have invented tasty plates.
British food has traditionally been based on beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish and generally served with potatoes and one other vegetable. The most common and typical foods eaten in Britain include the sandwich, fish and chips, pies like the Cornish pasty, trifle and roasts dinners. Some of our main dishes have strange names like Bubble & Squeak and Toad-in-the-Hole.
MEAL TIME
British have three main meals a day:
Breakfast: between 7:00 and 9:00
Lunch: between 12:00 and 1:30 p.m.
Dinner: The main meal. Eaten anytime between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.
Tea: anywhere from 5:30 at night to 6:30 p.m.
The time to have food is very similar than in our country, but the differences are:
In Colombia we have breakfast depending to the person (their occupation) and the place, because if you live in a town you must be very timely to eat and it is generally very very early in the morning. And for us, breakfast is the main meal.
Lunch in Colombia is between 12:00 and 1:00; but there are exceptions especially today, because people are very busy and nobody has any time for have lunch at time.
Dinner is the less important meal a day, because in our country a few persons have dinner. Generally you eat anything at night or eating very light meal.
BREAKFAST:
Now-a-days, however, a typical English breakfast is more likely to be a bowl of cereals, a slice of toast, orange juice and a cup of coffee.
The traditional English breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, sausages, fried bread, baked beans and mushrooms.
In Colombia the kind of breakfast depends of the city and the social strata; because if you are from Bogota, your breakfast could be a soup and a cup of chocolate; but if you live in Pereira, your breakfast will be pone (arepa), eggs, some bread, cheese and a cup of chocolate or coffee if you prefer.
It depends too if you are a rich person because generally this kind of people have a breakfast very different, for example they eat only fruit with orange juice, or eggs and some bread and a cup of coffee or only cereal.
ENGLISH LUNCH:
Many children at school and adults at work will have a 'packed lunch'. This typically consists of a sandwich, a packet of crisps, a piece of fruit and a drink. The 'packed lunch' is kept in a plastic container.
COLOMBIAN LUNCH and BRITISH LUNCH

In Colombia lunch is very different but it is according to the city where you live and occupations of the people because in each region typical food is different and if you do not have any time to eat, you generally eating fast food.
DINNER:
A typical British meal for dinner is "meat and two veg". They put hot brown gravy, (traditionally made from the juices of the roast meat, but more often today from a packet!) on the meat and usually the vegetables. One of the vegetables is almost always potatoes.
Colombian people ´dinner is very different because we eat light food like a cup of coffee and some brad and anymore or if you live in a town your dinner is generally the same that you ate in the lunch. But however dinner depends of each person.

In England is traditional the tea, and there are some ways to eat it:
AFTERNOON TEA (The traditional 4 o'clock tea): This is a small meal, not a drink. Traditionally it consists of tea (or coffee) served with either of the following:
Freshly baked scones served with cream and jam (Known as a cream tea).
Afternoon tea sandwiches - thinly sliced cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off.
Afternoon tea is not common these days because most adults go out to work. However, you can still have Afternoon tea at the many tea rooms around England.
HIGH TEA (The traditional 6 o'clock tea): The British working population did not have Afternoon Tea. They had a meal about midday, and a meal after work, between five and seven o'clock. This meal was called 'high tea' or just 'tea'.
Traditionally eaten early evening, High tea was a substantial meal that combined delicious sweet foods, such as scones, cakes, buns or tea breads, with tempting savories, such as cheese on toast, toasted crumpets, cold meats and pickles or poached eggs on toast. This meal is now often replaced with a supper due to people eating their main meal in the evenings rather than at midday.
We do not drink tea in the afternoon, but In Colombia not only we have three meals a day, but also we eat snacks in the middle of main meals. (Though Delicious and easy food like sandwiches, empanadas, bread, etc.).
There are many important thinks about food in England, but for now I only have place for this, I hope you have enjoyed this wonderful subject.
